HYBRID TEA BUSH ROSES  -  GENERAL LIST  -  200mm pots  -  $18.99 each:

ADOLF HORSTMANN - Lovely in size and colour.  Buds open to a beautiful big flower much like a Paeony.  Buds are golden yellow with a flow of copper - in full bloom colour is bright golden yellow and pink flush and stays that way until petals fall.  Vigorous upright growth.  VERY FRAGRANT.

ALEC’S RED  -  A very large bloom of clear crimson with magnificent fragrance.  The health and vigour of Alec’s Red is unsurpassed and production of good well-formed flowers is excellent.  Dark green foliage.  Vigorous, bushy plant of average height.

AVON - Large crimson blooms of excellent form on long stems have a wonderful fragrance..  Vigorous growth, average height.

BARONNE DE ROTHSCHILD  -  A large-formed high-pointed rose of light red with silver reverse.  Very hardy, easily grown plant of medium height.  Forty petals of  STRONG PERFUME.

BLUE MOON  -  Large lavender blue blooms with strong fragrance on long slender stems.  Healthy medium growth.  Most popular of all the ‘Blue Roses’.

BRANDY - Classic rich golden apricot blooms borne on a long straight stem with glossy mahogany foliage.

CAMP DAVID  -  A beautifully scented well-formed dark red that is very resistant to adverse weather.  The plant is of excellent sturdy and healthy growth.

CANDY STRIPE  -  Very large, maroon striped blooms are produced in abundance on a vigorous, upright bush.  FRAGRANT.   

CHAMPAGNE  -  Upright growth with a full bloom, yellow tinted with apricot. FRAGRANT.

CHARLES DE GAULLE  -  Lilac blue FRAGRANT fully double flowers.  One of the best mauves.

CHICAGO PEACE  -  A sport of Peace but marked heavily with deep pink.  Of exhibition form.

CHRISTIAN DIOR  -  Rich velvety crimson scarlet. Upright exhibition rose.  Slightly fragrant. Disease resistant.

DIAMOND JUBILEE  -  Buff yellow exhibition blooms with a strong fragrance.  Vigorous and disease resistant.

DOUBLE DELIGHT  -  Large double blooms of white to cream.  Heavily flushed and edged carmine to red.  Bushes are of medium size of good health and vigour with long strong stems.  STRONG FRAGRANCE.

DUET  -  Two tone pink rose - attractive and popular.  Easy to grow.   Hardy, vigorous and flowers profusely.  A great bedding rose.

ELINA (Dickson)  -  Very large well formed blooms - lemon to light yellow.  A plant of exceptionally healthy and plentiful growth. 

FIRST PRIZE  -  Very long deep classically formed bud of rose pink opening to large well-formed and mid-pink, flushed rose pink.  A really outstanding rose.

FRAGRANT CHARM  (Kordes)  -  Brilliant red flowers of about 45 to 48 petals with PLEASANT PERFUME.  Growth is very strong, compact and healthy, and blooms are produced freely and generally on single stems.

FRAGRANT CLOUD  -  Geranium Red.  Vigorous upright growth.  Full flower.  VERY FRAGRANT.

FRAGRANT DELIGHT  -  Upright growth habit to 1 metre.  Full flower of orange/pink colour.  VERY FRAGRANT.

FRAGRANT PLUM  -  Deep lilac, edged rich purple rose, with a high centre.  STRONG PERFUME.

GOLD MEDAL  -  Yellow, lightly flushed pink.  Very good, clean, healthy foliage.  LIGHT FRAGRANCE.

GRANADA  -  Nasturtium red and yellow blooms of good form.  FRAGRANT.  A very healthy ideal rose for colourful mass planting

HARRY WHEATCROFT  -  A highly decorative novelty rose in shades of flame red heavily splashed and striped yellow.  Medium yet strong healthy growth.

HELMUT SCHMIDT  -  Pure yellow with about 25 broad petals, excellent foliage, general robustness.  Clean stems with few thorns.

HONOUR  -  (A.A.R.S. Award) Off-white to cream rose of excellent form.  Extremely disease resistant.  Light fragrance.

JOYFULNESS  -  Pastel shades of apricot, cream and pink.  Large size blooms of very attractive shades, very freely produced, usually solitary on long stems.  A most welcome addition to the fancy colours list.  FRAGRANT, very strong and healthy growth.

JULIA’S ROSE  -  Unique coffee and fawn colours.  Good healthy variety.  Popular for floral arrangements.

JUST JOEY  -  Large decorative coppery orange to buff blooms with waved and frilled petals.  Strong tough growth and the unique coloured flowers are SWEETLY SCENTED.

KARDINAL  -  A delightful bright red rose with beautifully formed medium sized blooms produced in abundance.  The bush is of medium size and healthy.  One of the best.

KENTUCKY DERBY  -  A remarkably free flowering dark blood red rose of excellent form that holds its colour well even to the full bloom stage.  Very healthy foliage.  Produces 50-petalled blooms on long strong single stems.  A great dual purpose garden rose.

LADY X  -  Long perfect buds of pale lilac on almost thornless stem will make this rose very popular for floral work.  FRAGRANT.

LAGERFELD  -  Pale lilac mauve med-sized blooms produced several to a stem.  Plant is medium tall open.  LIGHT FRAGRANCE.

MARCHEN KONIGEN (Kordes) Syn.FairyTaleQueen - Lovely pale pink blooms on long strong stems. Vigorous,  disease resistant.

MR. LINCOLN  (A.A.R.S. Award 1965)  -  Dark velvety red bloom that cannot be surpassed for colour and fragrance.  Well up to exhibition form and a strong healthy grower.

MT. SHASTA  -  White slightly tinted pink large well formed bloom.  Tall, bushy plant with very long stems.

OKLAHOMA  -  A large double very dark red, 45 to 55 petals on long stems.  VERY FRAGRANT and vigorous.

PARADISE  -  Unusual colouring of pink mauve, flushed and edged carmine.  A beautifully formed and unique rose.  Health and general growth is good, with long stems generally with a single bloom.

PASCALI  -  White, slightly tinged pink.  Blooms in profusion on tall healthy bush.  Slight fragrance.

PEACE  -  The large exhibition blooms of yellow, flushed pink have a pleasant fragrance.  Probably the most popular of all roses.  Makes an excellent standard.

PERFUME DELIGHT -  Deep Pink blooms on vigorous upright bush.  VERY FRAGRANT.

PRINCESS DE MONACO  (Meilland)  -  A strikingly beautiful rose of ivory, edged pink with excellent form, with 30 unfading petals.  Growth is vigorous and upright and the green foliage is of great hardiness.

PRINCESS MARGARET  -  A large luminous bright pink rose of excellent form with 30 unfading petals.  Growth is vigorous and upright and the green foliage is of great hardiness.

QUEEN ELIZABETH  -  A long stemmed decorative rose of clear pink.  Very vigorous.

SONIA  -  Perfectly formed medium sized bloom of salmon pink produced singly and several to a stem.  Highly regarded in Europe as

a variety suitable for cut flower production.  Of medium growth and compact habit.

TOUCH OF CLASS  -  Tall elegant flowers of good form on a plant of good health and vigour, blooms are bright salmon pink.

VALENCIA  -  Very large exhibition style flowers, on long strong stems.  The Old Gold coloured blooms, are borne on a vigorous, healthy, large-foliaged bush.  FRAGRANCE IS SWEETLY STRONG for which ‘Valencia’ won the ‘Henry Edland’ Gold Medal for Fragrance.  This variety is the best in its colour range.

VOL DE NUIT  -  The colour is clear deep mauve of a most attractive shade, and the form is particularly good with a high pointed center and nicely reflexed petals.  Well suited for the show exhibitor and highly recommended for the home gardener.  The leader of this colour group.  VERY FRAGRANT.  Gold medal, Rome.

FLORIBUNDA BUSH ROSES  -  GENERAL LIST  -  200mm pots  -  $18.99 each:

APRICOT NECTAR  -  Buff apricot in colour plus strong healthy growth make this rose a must for the rose garden.  The colour is unique in floribundas.  The flowers are quite large, fully petalled and have a pleasant fragrance.  Ideal for floral arranging.

BRIDAL PINK  -  Profuse blooming medium sized flowers of a very delicate pink shade produced singly and in clusters on a neat low and very healthy compact bush  Keeping qualities are good and repeat flowers continually.

CECILLE BRUNNER  -  An old fashioned buttonhole rose.  Small perfect double pink blooms on an easy to grow, almost thornless bush.  FRAGRANT.

FRIESIA  -  An excellent healthy and compact floribunda of the brightest unfading yellow.  Free blooming, GOOD FRAGRANCE.

GOLD BUNNY  -  This is all that a floribunda should be.  The soft gold blooms are fairly large and of classic shape.  They are borne almost continuously on a compact light green bush up to 80cm high, singly or in small clusters on medium stems, making it ideal for both bedding and small cuts.  Will join ‘Friesia’ as the best yellow.

ICEBERG (Kordes)  -  Introduced over 40 years ago by Kordes.  This is still one of the most popular roses.  Pure white double blooms are produced continuously all season.  A healthy bush ideal for massed display, also popular as a standard.

LILI MARLENE  -  Semi-double bright red blooms hold well in hot or cooler conditions.  Ideal for bedding.  Profuse flowering.

MARGARET MERRIL  -  Europe’s most popular white floribunda.  Tall, strong, large clear white blooms, prominent red stamens.                                            HIGHLY SCENTED.

MOTHER’S LOVE  -  The soft white to creamy pink blooms gently deepen in colour toward the centre.  Flowers are mainly produced in clusters of three and have a strong, sweet fragrance.  Abundant deep green foliage - medium to tall, healthy bush.
