The Aerobin® is a technological breakthrough. It uses a patented ‘lung’ or aeration core with an insulated bin to promote aerobic and efficient breakdown of organic matter, which contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Aerobin® is easy to use – just open, drop in organic waste and close. After a short time, fertile compost is produced, which is easily accessed at either side. Aerobin® captures moisture that can also be used as liquid fertiliser. Compost releases nutrients from the organic matter to feed your plants & improve your soil.

You can regularly put a mixture of wet materials such as food scraps (including onions & citrus), coffee grounds and lawn clippings together with dry materials such as leaves, twigs and scrunched up newspaper into the Aerobin®. The thermal insulation in the Aerobin® conserves heat leading to rapid breakdown of waste. There is no need for a starter or any additives or chemicals.

With the revolutionary Aerobin®, you can contribute positively to the environment with aerobic composting, rather than dumping your food & garden waste to landfill. The patented technological design of the Aerobin® overcomes the problems many people have had with composting. It produces high quality compost and liquid soil conditioner, both excellent for promoting plant growth.  Helps achieve a carbon neutral household.

Wild May Fruit Fly Traps

How to use Wild May Fruit Fly Attractant
You can make your own trap out of a plastic drink bottle hanging in the tree with a hole the size of a 5c piece near the top of the bottle. The traps need to be placed up wind of the infected area preferably in shade. Normally when the traps are introduced a large amount of flies are caught followed by a decrease in numbers hopefully down to one or two flies per day. This is the first generation of fruit flies you have eradicated in your area. Remember that as you have fruit or vegetables in season at this time they will still be stung by the current generation of fertile females. By leaving the traps in place, when the next generation of fruit fly emerges from the ground the juvenile males will be attracted to the lure and eradicated in most cases before they become sexually mature. The female needs to mate before they sting your produce and if there are no males available to mate with they will leave the area in search of male fruit flies.
